Jennifer was an excellent server. Very attentive and refilled our drinks and even gave us to go cups. The barbecue was spot-on as we each had a chopped BBQ pork sandwich. The side we chose was a nice creamy coleslaw and also a slightly spicy macaroni and cheese.they have nice blues music or country music playing that goes right along with the smell of smoke BBQ. The premises is very clean. There's lots to look at between the ceramic pigs, the multiple trophies that they have one, and just the general dacor. Prices aren't too bad at approximately $9 per person for the sandwich and side.I would highly recommend you trying this place before you go anywhere else for barbecued!
Jelly belly jelly beans for a little after dinner sweet.

We ended up leaving. We sat around and no one came to even drop off water. They were only two small booth with people otherwise empty. I will NEVER go there again.

I love the décor and the feel of an old highway diner with all that neon. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was not to my liking but the pork sandwich was delicious. Everyone in our group ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was unanimous that it was good.

The service was slow even though there were very few customers, probably because we arrived shortly before closing time. I would go back to Thee Pitts Again again ( I couldn't help myself ).

Dude, I love BBQ.  No, I mean L-O-V-E, LOOOOVE, BBQ.  I'm a little picky about it, too.  Just because you throw some meat on a grill and then bathe it in sauce doesn't qualify it as good BBQ.  Heck, that's not even really BBQ in my book.   So when my wife found this on Apple Maps when looking for dinner at a recent visit to Phoenix, I was ecstatic to find that Guy Fieri stopped by and gave his personal vote.  So we loaded up the minivan and pointed our Honda Odyssey toward the big shiny silver "diner" in the Valley of Sun.

We arrived a little bit before five on a Friday and I was a bit surprised to find it pretty much dead.  We were quickly seated just past a life size cutout of Guy.  The place is packed with pig decorations and awards everywhere.  I mean, everywhere.  I made my order and took a tour of the fairly nice sized restaurant.  There are some pictures and articles from Guy and his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visit including a looped tape of the show on a small and old-school tubed TV.  I guess it goes with the theme.

I watched the clip of the show prior to coming and was really excited to try the pulled-pork.  Owner and founder Roger noted that the most popular item is the pulled-pork sandwich coming in about 80% of the orders.  Wow!  Well, if that's what everyone likes, I figured I'd give it a try.  Everyone else in my party pretty much did the same or just the pork sans the bun.

Interestingly enough, while it wasn't too busy our food did seem to take longer to arrive than one would expect.  When it did show up, it smelled so good. Now, let me get one thing out of the way and to clear up something that I noticed on some reviews here on Yelp.  There are complaints about the amount of food for the price you are paying.  As you can see in my pictures I've provided, the plates are full and the prices are more than reasonable.  None of us left here hungry.  In fact, I was stuffed and had to force myself to drink the chocolate milkshake to go!

While I ordered the BBQ Pulled-pork Sandwich, it arrived not on a bun but on a plate.  The waitress without even being told of the error by me quickly brought the bun on a plate on her second delivery to our table.  I had dipped into the pork prior to her arriving with the bun and, man, it was freakin' amazing!  The meat was filled with the natural smoked flavor and it was not overpowering.  The rub gave a great taste to the meat that impressed me enough to eat the majority of the meat as was.  No sauce, no bun.

Now, since 80% of the orders are the sandwich, I thought I had to at least try it this way so I piled some meat on the bun, poured the award winning sauce on and topped it with the other half of the bun.  Yup, it's a good pulled-pork sandwich but I do have to say, the bun and sauce distract from the amazing pork!  Do yourself a flavor (see what I did there?) and don't get the sandwich.  Don't add sauce to it.  Enjoy Roger's hard work in its purest form!

Oh, the beans that came along with the plate were almost as amazing as the pork.  The french fries were good, nothing special but nothing bad.  The cornbread?  Mind blowing!  I think it was neck-and-neck in goodness with the pork.  This is the best cornbread I've ever had.

Overall, the family really enjoyed the food and there was no complaints of not having enough.  The service was fine but could have been a little better.  When I return to Phoenix, I will stop in here, again.  This place is the pits! ;)

I was optimistic for this place, especially because it was featured on DDD, but was disappointed. We got takeout, rib dinner plate and brisket. The sides were super small and the meat had a strange smell. Brisket was rubbery, and not like any brisket I've ever had before. Prices weren't cheap either. Wouldn't go again.
